How to make...

.... tissue paper flowers

Yesterday, Munchkins 1 and 2 and myself made a long overdue visit to see A-N. As is always the case, a really great time was had by all... although perhaps not so much for A-N's two cats, Calvin & Hobbes, who were busily engaged in typical pussy-cat activities on our arrival (ie lazily basking in the sun).

I'm sure they regarded the Munchkins comings and goings throughout the morning with the typical 'oh just pat me already and go away' disdain most felines show for little people.

Now... what to do when you have Munchkins running rampant in your home? Well... A-N is always one for brilliant creative ideas and so... on to the tissue paper flowers.....

Let's begin....

Take one very dear friend.....

the lovely and talented A-N

Munchkins 1 (almost 9 but still really good at being 8) and 2 (giving a whole new outlook on the age of 6)....

The Munchkins

Some tissue paper cut into appropriately sized squares, layered and folded as if making a paper fan....

layer upon layer upon layer

be sure to adhere to the stringent Occupational Health & Safety concerns inherent with this activity by wearing the appropriate headgear.....

Apply a twist tie to the centre and seperate each layer of tissue individually to form the petals (if this gets boring.. get the nearest grown up to do it!) .....

hey! my hands were full with the camera!

And.. et voila!!! One gorgeous hot pink tissue paper flower!!!!

the finished product
