'On the Village Green'...
....the sign read. What else to do on such a brilliantly sunny Sunday in Sydney but go to a fair?
Yes... the Annual Fair on the Village Green at Beecroft was the destination today. I had barely awoken this morning when my mouth started watering at the prospect of some home-made coconut ice... which I nearly always regret the consumption of the next day but truly... at the time it's just heaven.
They had a great turnout this year, as the pictures will indicate, and mother nature certainly put on a fabulous show with gorgeous blue skies and just enough of a breeze to keep the heat at bay .... and most especially... not melt the home-made coconut ice!
Fair on the Village Green, Beecroft
Gorgeous day for a fair
Amongst other things... they had fairy floss..... (or cotton candy for our american readers)....
.... and some adorable baby farm animals for the kiddies to talk to.. while the mums and dads drank enormous mugs of espresso.. conveniently located right next to the adorable baby farm animals for the kiddies to talk to!
One of the highlights this year was an exhibition staged by The Sydney Kendo Club who's members put on a fantastic display....

.... and then invited a little audience participation. Lucky there were some boy scouts around to show them a thing or two right? Nuh uh, 'fraid not. They may sizzle a mean sausage but swinging a bamboo sword at a heavily armoured 'samurai' was a little different.
Be Prepared boys!
Great entertainment for we spectators though....busily savouring the creamy delights of home-made coconut ice!!!!!
